Comments: The owner reports this tree is 300 yrs. old. I think it falls in both old and historic categories. In the 1700's it is said to be a hanging tree, and was likely picked due to its heavy branches. Today you would never know it may have had such a brutal history. It stands alone in front of a church in Dinwiddie Courthouse. Cir is 235 " crown 93 ' height 65 feet
