Comments: Our tree is a Champion tree, an Old tree, a community tree, a Beautiful tree and a Unique tree. This tree is located in one of the Courtyards of Beach Colony Condo Assoc. It is over one hundred years old and deserves to be celebrated. It is a block from the ocean and has survived and actually thrived while facing numerous hurricanes. To us it depicts a freedom of life itself, a refusal to give up while in the midst of civilization's barriers and is a symbol of the area that covered coastal Virginia prior to the present century.
