Comments: This tree was planted by Rosie Le Fontaine, her sister, Jo, and their grandmother in the 1940's. They have watched it grow and have offspring. Rosie is famous in her community for doing whatever she can to save historic trees. In one instance she attempted the largest tree transplanting (a southern magnolia- that did not survive) known to have occured in Virginia.
