John Peterson has been a technician for FREC for 30+ years, assisting with teaching and conducting field work with undergraduate and graduate students. He is, however, best known for his digital footprint which includes the Dendrology at Virginia Tech fact sheets, Woody Plants in North America, and the VTree app.
John Seiler is a FREC professor specializing in tree physiology. He is also for well-known for his contributions to tree identification. In fact, his alter-ego is Dr. Dendro.
