The Shenandoah River

Rich Pendleton - Life Science SOL 12

  1. Introduction

  2. Discussion - The Shenandoah River

Annually since 2004, fish kills have been seen throughout the Shenandoah, James, Cowpasture and Maury rivers.  The North and South Forks of the Shenandoah River have heavily experienced fish die off. These kills occur during the spring months when the water temperature is fluctuating from day to day, making fishes more vulnerable to illness.
