Comments: This is the "Homeplace White Oak" on the Epperson Farm. It measures 15 foot three inches in circumference and stands 66 feet tall located in the McKendree Church area of Halifax County on a farm owned by the same family for over 100 years. This tree stands behind the old farmhouse which has now fallen. The house originally built was a small log building. The farm is presently owned by two great-great granddaughters of the original owners and has been planted in loblolly pine trees, which is a common practice today due to availability of the pine markets.
