Comments: This remarkable beech tree, known as the "Carving Tree" has been a member of our family since my dad, Ralph W. McGinniss (pictured below), was a young child. The tree has carvings of our family members dating back to the early 1800's. Although their names have faded, their memories live on through this magnificent tree. Each generation of the McGinniss family has added their names to the bottom of the tree and we have watched it grow and spread it's branches into the world, just as our family has. In honor of my father's 89th birthday I nominate this remarkable tree. It has stood tall and proud, just as my father has throughout the years.
