Common Name: willow oak
Scientific Name: Quercus phellos
Category: Champion (big) tree
Comments: Although this is "only" the 8th largest willow oak in Virginia, it registers over 400 total points, and continues to grow. It added seven inches in circumference over the last six years. Although it easily survived Hurricane Isabel, a year later a branch was broken, but is healing nicely.
