Common Name: flowering dogwood
Scientific Name: Cornus florida
Category: Beautiful tree
Comments: Our dogwoods were planted in 1939-1941 by the original owner of this house. We also enjoy the fact that the weather in our valley is about 2 weeks behind in the spring and just when other dogwoods are full of green, ours are in full floral bloom. They are majestic as they are old. They are a joy to stare at from the front porch.
Best time to photograph: End of April
