Common Name: yellow-poplar
Scientific Name: Liriodendron tulipifera
Category: Old tree
Comments: I call this tree my 'Huggy tree' because every time I go down into the forest, I have to hug this tree. I measured the girth about four feet from the ground one time, and it measured 16 feet. It is still healthy, blooming every year. It is at least as large as the tulip-poplars at Westover Plantation.
