Comments: The LBJ Grove of white pines was planted along the GW Parkway to commerate the life of President Lyndon Baines Johnson. In a recorded message, Lady Bird Johnson mentions the appropriateness of a living memorial, one that her husband would appreciate more than a building. This may be the only living memorial to a US President. From the Grove, one can see the Washington Monument, the Jefferson and Lincoln Memorials, and the White House. This picture was taken at the edge of the Grove, just before dark.
