Common Name: white oak
Scientific Name: Quercus alba
Category: Champion (big) tree
Comments: This beautiful White Oak is ensconced amongst an 1880s farmhouse on a Bicentennial Farm in Amelia County. We truly enjoy this tree and the shade it provides. The tree provides a diverse habitat for numbers animals and insects. The family and I enjoy watching the birds, squirrels, and the occasional hawk. The large abundance of acorns this year, have often found my family and I falling victim to aerial bombardment.
