Comments: On February 19, 2005, our tree was measured by Ed Hendricks. It stood 125 feet tall with a crown spread of 73 by 135 feet with a 17'4" circumference. It was given 359 Champion points. We live in Alanton Subdivision of Virginia Beach, VA. When we bought the house, the previous owners told us that there were stories that Blackbeard used this tree as a lookout point and artifacts had proven that.
