Common Name: paper mulberry
Scientific Name: Broussonetia papyrifera
Category: Other
Comments: Normally now considered a "weed," this huge specimen has been a lawn feature for generations. It was very old in 1940 when it was taller and less "tortured." I have never seen another approaching it in size, vigor, or complexity. The house was built by the Hay family (many historic connections) in 1800+.
Best time to photograph: leafless or early leaf, afternoon
