Comments: This tree is part of a stand of virgin forest dominated by Liriodendron trees up to five feet in diameter. It has been described as the largest trees in aggregation in Shenandoah National Park by Charles E. Stevens after 35 years of exploration. The picture does not capture the enormous size of the tree.
