Common Name: white oak
Scientific Name: Quercus alba
Category: Unique tree
Comments: I would like to nominate this giant white oak tree because one day it stood on the east side of Route 765 and the next day it stood on the west side of Route 765! In preparation for the paving of Route 765, landowners on both sides of the road decided to deed each other the land opposite 90 degree corners in the road to straighten the curve in it out. This explains how the tree seemed to have moved. The tree now sits on a 22 acre farm. This white oak stand approximately 67 feet tall at 6 feet above the ground with a circumference of 11 feet 4 inches.
