Comments: This is a large black oak located in a residentail neighborhood. At 345 total points it is the third largest of its kind in Virginia in 2006. First nominated by Richard Salzer in 1973, a neighborhood has since grown around it. The tree has been carefully preserved by its owner and neighbors ever since. Note: the top of this tree was blown away in a storm in June, 2008, and the tree had to be removed.
