Comments: This tree is located at Crab Orchard Museum, one mile from the original site of Fort Witten, a French and Indian War site on the Virginia frontier in what is now Tazewell County. The fort was the site of several skirmishes between settlers and Indians. This and other trees are being planted in loving memory of Carol. L. Clear, a civic leader and member of the museum staff, whose artistry made possible several of the permanent museum exhibits.
