Common Name: willow oak
Scientific Name: Quercus phellos
Category: Old tree
Comments: This magnificient tree towers over nearby homes and the streetscape providing shade and security and a sense of stability in an ever unstable world. If the average mature tree is a home for 1,000,000 organisms, this tree could shelter 100,000,000 without strain. Under the protective care of Bartlett Tree Service, this beauty has symmetry and no dead branches. It is almost impossible to photograph because of its size. Standing next to it's trunk, I am overwhelmed.
Best time to photograph: Early morning
Nominator: Carla T. Takacs
