Comments: This tree was planted when the Methodist church was first built there over 200 years ago. The tree sits in front of the current church which is over 150 years old. The tree is a state champion and second in the nation for its species. It is also located in an old cememtery and has partially grown into a an old headstone. Therefore, this tree is not only a champion, it is an old tree, a community tree, a beautiful and unique tree. It fits most of the categories mentioned above.
