Common Name: yellow buckeye
Scientific Name: Aesculus flava
Category: Beautiful tree
Comments: This is the most wonderful tree I have ever seen. It is beautifully shaped and has remarkable limbs that have 180 degree curves. While beautiful in the summer, it is most outstanding in the winter when its skeleton is most visible. Its trunk measures 12 feet six inches. It was obviously planted many years ago in the middle of our backyard. We have a 1785 house that backs up to Locke Mountain. The setting is fantastic.
