Comments: This is the state champion green ash, located at Clarke's Gap, where Rt. 7 crosses the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Loudoun County. The W and OD trail passes in front of the tree. Last year a limb had to be removed, and a baseball bat was made from the wood. (Baseball bats are traditionally made from ash wood.)
