Comments: This is one of several dawn redwoods grown from seedlings obtained by Dr. I. D. Wilson, former head of the Biology Department at Va. Tech, in the mid-1960's. Dr. Wilson obtained the seedlings from a Harvard Univ. professor who worked in China. The tree has a circumference of 7 ft. and appreas to be approx. 90 ft. tall. The picture below shows a seedling in the foreground that grew from seed produced by the tree.
