Common Name: white oak
Scientific Name: Quercus alba
Category: Other
Comments: This oak tree is very large for its species, its very old (approximately 300 years old), beautifully shaped and positioned by an equally old home. It is also unique because it has survived the Civil War plus natural disasters. It is the remaining tree of what was once a ring of approximately at least 6 such trees plus English box wood that surrounded this antique antebellum home. I believe it to be a white oak.
Best time to photograph: This time of the year - in the morning, although people come by to photograph it all year long.
