Common Name: willow oak
Scientific Name: Quercus phellos
Category: Community tree
Comments: This beautiful willow Oak (Quercus phellos) lives just east of the historic Victorian fountain in Monroe Park, Richmond's oldest city park. Shading the benches that lie beneath in the hot, humid Summer months in Richmond, this tree is a stately sight in an urban setting; a sylvan respite smack in the middle of the VCU Monroe Park campus.
Best time to photograph: Sunset is pretty. Spring is great.
