Comments: This is the largest Douglas-fir on record for Virginia. It is located at the old P. W. County Courthouse Buildling, the site of the "Manassas National Jubilee of Peace, which took place on this site in 1911. The Jubilee was to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first battle of Manassas. President Taft and the Governor of Virginia spoke at the Courthouse to a crowd of over 1000. As a follow-up a memorial was set near the corner of Grant and Lee Avenues in 1915. Today the Doug fir sits just west of the memorial. You can see the memorial and the courthouse in the photo.
