Comments: This is a legendary tree. An inmate at Central State Hospital in Richmond wrote a letter to the editor of the Richmond Mercury newspaper about this tree. Tree survived the civil war and great depression, when many trees were felled for firewood. Featured in The Richmond Mercury 8-27-75. Cut down in 1977.
