Comments: The tree grows at Bellvue, a National Historic Landmark dating to 1854. Immediately next door is the site of the Black Horse Tavern, dating to 1782. The Carolina Road passed in front of it. This is the State champion big tree. Lost a limb during Hurricane Isabelle.
