Flower:Large, showy, upright pairs of orange-red flowers in the leaf axils; individual tube-like flowers are 1 1/2 to 2 inches long, five petal lobes somewhat resembling a monkey face when viewed end-on; very fragrant and appearing spring through summer.
Fruit:A dehiscent brown capsule.
Bark:Red-brown and somewhat shreddy.
Form:A small rounded shrub to 3 feet tall.
