Leaf:Alternate, semi-evergreen, lanceolate, to 4 inches long, entire or with teeth; dark green, resinous, and sticky above, white tomentose below; petioles short or absent; margins toothed and revolute; aromatic.
Flower:Species is monoecious; individual flowers white, 1/4 inch, with 5 petals, borne in panicles at the ends of branches; appearing during summer.
Fruit:A 4-parted capsule 1/8 inch long.
Twig:Glabrous, red-brown, sticky.
Bark:Gray-brown and smooth, becoming shreddy.
Form:A shrub to 6 feet with very dense branches.
