Leaf:Alternate, pinnately compound, up to 15 feet long; individual leaflets, lance shaped and up to 5 feet long, yellow-green, gracefully arching, underside with thin scales; rachis gray- to red-pubescent; the leaf base forms a triangle.
Flower:Species is monoecious; borne on dense many-branched clusters to 4 feet long that grow from the axils of the lower leaves, yellow-green, appearing year-round.
Fruit:Fleshy drupe, round, 1 inch in diameter, initially pale and glaucous blue-black.

Bark:Light grayish brown, ringed, becoming fibrous.
Form:Tall, slender, straight tree reaching up to 50 feet tall (but usually much shorter), with a graceful feathery top.
