Oldest known living Pinus taeda in the Congaree Swamp National Park, SC. This tree was 227 yrs when it was cored in 1992. The was revisited in Nov 2011 by Dr. Saskia van de Gevel making it at least 246 yrs old! (photo ©2006 Neil Pederson)
