Redbud is not intentionally regenerated.

Redbud is found on a variety of soils, including moist valley and slope soils and lime outcrops.

Growth

Size
A large shrub or small tree up to 30 feet with a short, often twisted trunk and spreading branches.

Timber Value
Redbud does not grow lage enough to be considered sawtimber, but it can be used for firewood.

Wildlife Value
Deer browse young trees, and a variety of birds eat the seeds. Flowers are edible.

Fun Facts
Flowers are edible and make an excellent addition to salads. Red dye can be derived from the roots.
